NASA’s Spinoff 2020 Magazine showcased the zero-leak valve developed by the Doering Company for the water-mist fire extinguishers designed, tested, and launched in 2016 to the International Space Station by Mines in collaboration with ADA Technologies, Wyle, and NASA GRC. The nine water mist fire extinguishers were built to replace the original CO2 fire suppression devices. The zero-leak valve used on the extinguishers orbiting Earth is now improving the performance of systems in industrial and military applications on Earth, with equally demanding requirements.
